YPulse reports that in a recent survey of female Millennials that when it comes to trends in fashion, hair, makeup, shopping, and even nail color, social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube are having a significant impact on their style decisions.
YPulse: Social Media Influences Style and Self-Expression
"Interestingly enough, even more Millennials are turning to social media for hairstyle information with 60% saying they’ve looked up hair ideas/inspiration on such sites. Many Millennials are also watching makeup tutorials on YouTube with 45% saying they’ve done so. Fully 4 in 10 (43%) female Millennials have looked up nail art on social media in the past six months and 27% have posted a picture of their nails. This suggests that fashion and beauty brands should pay attention to the power of Millennials’ collaborative and creative nature, while joining the conversation and further promoting their behavior as style influencers to their peers."
